The General tab’s Cart drawer behaviour section controls how and when the drawer opens.
General options:
AJAX add to cart on product page
WooCommerce only does this automatically for shop/category page buttons — without it, the single product page’s own “Add to cart” reloads the whole page instead of updating the drawer.
Auto-open on add to cart
Slide the drawer open automatically whenever a product is added to the cart.
Show floating trigger button
A persistent cart button shoppers can click to open the drawer at any time.
Trigger position
Floating — bottom right, Floating — bottom left, or Use theme cart icon to open the drawer from your theme’s own cart icon instead of a Side Cart button.

Trigger badge shows
Show the number of items in the cart, the total price of the cart, both, or none.

Trigger position and Trigger badge shows only appear while Show floating trigger button is on, and the badge setting is hidden when you pick Use theme cart icon, since Side Cart then shows no button of its own. If your theme’s cart icon does not open the drawer, your developer can point Side Cart at it — see Hooks for theme developers.
Turning any of these off
Each toggle here is independent — for example, you can keep the floating trigger button on while turning off auto-open, so the drawer only appears when a shopper deliberately clicks the cart icon.
