Display, rules and coupon behaviour

Updated September 5, 2026 · 2 min read

The Display & Rules step controls where a campaign is visible and how it behaves alongside sale prices and real WooCommerce coupons.

Where the ladder shows

Show in Cart
Displays the reward ladder on the Cart page.
Show in Checkout
Displays the reward ladder on the Checkout page.
Enable Progress Bar
Shows a visual progress bar toward the next reward, not just the message text.

Show in Cart and Show in Checkout are independent — you can run a campaign on one page only, for example showing it in the cart to encourage upsells but keeping checkout free of distractions. Enable Progress Bar adds a visual bar alongside the message text; turning it off leaves just the written message from the Messages step.

If Side Cart is also installed and active on your store, the same campaign automatically appears inside its drawer too, using these same toggles — there is no separate on/off switch for the drawer.

Sale-priced products

The Sale Products setting decides whether items currently on sale count toward the cart total at their full regular price or their discounted sale price when Progressive Discount checks which step has been reached. Counting at sale price is more forgiving to shoppers building a cart during a promotion; counting at regular price protects your margin by requiring the same underlying cart value regardless of sale pricing.

Coupon behaviour

Coupon mode decides whether a real WooCommerce coupon and this campaign can both be active on the same order. Set to “Disable with coupon”, the campaign’s reward is suspended whenever a shopper applies a coupon, useful if you never want the two to combine. Set to “Allow with coupon”, both apply together as separate line items in the totals.

Percentage discount base only matters when a percentage reward and a coupon are both allowed to run together — it decides whether the percentage is calculated against the cart’s regular price or against the price after the coupon has already been subtracted, which changes the final total when the two are combined.
