A product bundle belongs to one product and always wins over mass bundles and the automatic fallback on that product’s page. It is the quickest way to start: open a product, choose what goes with it, save.
Where to find it
Open the product under Products → Edit and, in the Product data box, choose the Smart Cross Sell tab. It is there for simple and variable products.
The fields
- Active — whether the bundle shows on this product page. Untick it to pause the bundle without losing its products and benefit.
- Companion products — up to four products shown with this one. You can pick a whole variable product (the shopper chooses the options) or one specific variation, such as “T-shirt – M”. Only products that can be ordered right now are listed.
- Benefit — No benefit, Percentage discount, Fixed discount, Free shipping or Gift product. For a discount, set the amount / percentage and, optionally, a Discount label shown in the cart (empty: the default from Global Settings). For a gift, choose a Gift product (simple products only) and whether to Show the gift in the bundle, marked as free. See Bundle benefits.
Click Update on the product to save the bundle. It appears in Smart Cross Sell → Bundles as “Override — product name”, with the PRODUCT badge; Edit on product page brings you back here.
Removing a bundle
Delete bundle in the tab removes the bundle at once, after you confirm. Saving the product with no companion products does not delete it — you get a notice and the bundle stays as it was.
Products that can’t be ordered
If one of the companion products goes out of stock, loses its price or is unpublished, the tab says so, together with what happens on the storefront. See Variable products and products that can’t be ordered.
